Daru-daru   Trade name – DARU-DARU (Heavy hardwood).
Botanical name – Cantleya Ridley.
Family – Icacinaceae.
 
Daru-daru is heavy and hard wood of white and light-yellow colour with smooth uniform texture. It is used for flooring, construction materials, interior decorative materials, house items.Ê When it is freshly cut itÊhas a characteristic smell of sandal wood.
  
Origin and distribution - It is distributed in Malaysia and Indonesia (Sumatra and Kalimantan). Komodoor supplies Daru-Daru from Sumatra island.
Komodoor selects Daru-Daru flooringÊfor Prime, Select and Natural Grades and sort it into Light, Medium and Dark colours. Skirting is supplied only in Select Grade and sorted into L,M,D colours.

Quarter and semi-quater sawn. No life knots, sapwood, stain, pin holes. No colour variation.
SELECT
Flat and quaterÊsawn. No sapwood, stain, dead knots. Some life knots, pin holes and slight colourÊvariation are accepted.
NATUR
Flat and quater sawn. Colour variation and wild grain. Sapwood on back side.ÊSome life knots, pin holes and small spots are accepted.
